This series of monotype prints are based on cave
drawings found in Lascaux, France that date back some 15,000 years. The
images of bison, horses and other animals from the original have been
replaced by my automobile drawings. My quick gestural markings are
meant to capture a feeling of roaming vehicles.

monotypes
I create mostly monotypes which are single unique prints. I use a
method sometimes called an "ink pick up print". I place paper face down
on a sheet of glass covered with printing ink and sketch on the back.
The ink from the glass is then transferred directly onto the paper from
the pressure of the drawn line.
